Hydroinformatics, a cross-disciplinary field of study, combines technological, human sociological and more general environmental interests, including an ethical perspective. It covers the application of information technology in the widest sense to problems of the aquatic environment and of the water resources management.
Its aim is to equip professionals, practitioners, engineers, managers and decision makers working in water related arenas, with available information and technology, to make rapid and robust decisions as they address the increasing challenges of ensuring a sustainable water environment and adequate water resources for generations to come.
Hydroinformatics Conference is a significant event in the continuous effort of three international associations - International Association of Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IAHR), International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) and International Water Association (IWA) - associated for the first time with the Société Hydrotechnique de France (SHF) to actively promote and accelerate both research and applications of hydroinformatics in the world.
This conference, in Nice on the French Riviera, will serve as a perfect venue for practitioners, engineers, researchers, scientists, managers and decision makers from Asian and Americas to meet with their European counterparts to exchange about the most advanced developments in the hydroinformatics field and the urgent water related issues.
